What to understand before you start
- It combines four forms in one
- The immigration, health and customs slips used to be separate paper forms. The D'Viajeros folds them into a single digital document with its own QR code.
- It is not a visa or the insurance
- The D'Viajeros is the arrival declaration. The tourist card or eVisa and Cuba's mandatory travel insurance are separate, paid requirements you arrange on your own.
- Print the QR code
- Internet in Cuba is expensive and unreliable. Download the QR code and carry it printed or saved offline on your phone, ready for the border.
- Bring cash
- US bank cards do not work in Cuba and ATMs are unreliable. Prepare the cash you need and declare on the form anything above the customs threshold.
What the D'Viajeros form is
The D'Viajeros is Cuba's advance passenger information form: a free digital declaration that every traveller must complete before arriving in the country. It is run by the Ministry of Transport (MITRANS) together with Customs, Immigration and Public Health, and it combines into one document what used to be several paper forms.
Who needs it
Everyone arriving in Cuba, without exception, and one declaration per traveller — babies and children included. It brings together your personal, immigration, health and customs information in a single submission.
When and how
You complete it on the official portal — available in Spanish, English, French and Russian — and it can be filled in up to 48 hours before arriving on Cuban soil. Once validated it produces a QR code shown at immigration, customs and public health control.
It is not a visa
The D'Viajeros records information; on its own it does not grant entry. Depending on your case you will also need the tourist card or eVisa, travel insurance valid in Cuba, and a valid passport. Those are separate, paid requirements, whereas the D'Viajeros is free.
